Becoming an Emotion Coach: Based on the Parenting Counts Curriculum by Talaris Institute, Emotion Coaching is a parenting technique that teaches children and parents how their emotions work and how to react to feelings in healthy ways. Topics may include Attachment and Parenting Styles, Emotion Coaching, and Discipline, and Temper Tantrums.

This 4-week class is open to parents with children ages 0-5.

Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00 pm

Mono County Public Health has set the guidelines included in the document below in partnership with Inyo Mono Advocates for Community Action, First 5, the Mono County Office of Education, and childcare provider representatives. Mammoth Elementary School will hold drive-by Kindergarten Round Up. Come get your enrollment packet Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday April 6th, 8th, or 9th 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. If the weather is bad, parents will  be asked to come into the building in a limited number to allow for social distancing.

Resources to support you and your family while staying at home to comply with the Governor’s orders and First 5 updates. Home Visits and Peapod playgroup in-person meetings are cancelled until further notice and our office is closed, but see below for more information about how we will continue to provide services remotely.

• Free lunches for children 0-5 (and school age children)–your child(ren) must be present–at Mammoth High School Multipurpose Room from 12:00-1:00 and in from of the Crowley Store from 1:00-1:30. For Lunches through the Eastern Sierra Unified School District, call Kat at 760-932-7443 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm on a weekday to coordinate.
• Your home visitor or playgroup leader will call you the week of Monday, March 23 to support you as best she is able. If you are not enrolled in Home Visiting, are a resident of Mono County with a child prenatal to age 5, and would like to join the program sign up here. We will offer calls, and virtual visits and Peapod playgroups.
• For more information about virtual Peapod playgroups, activity ideas, and other information, check our Facebook page.
• Mono County Library is conducing Story Time Wednesdays via live stream at 10:30 on their Facebook page.
• Mono County Behavioral Health is live streaming on their Facebook page daily at 10:30 & 3:30. Live streams will also be recorded an can be viewed at any time.
