Healthcare

• Corona Virus Hotline: Nurses are available every day at the Mono County Public Health hotline
• Mono County Behavioral Health: Mental health support in English and Spanish
• Mono County Medi-cal Eligibility: For free or low-cost health insurance for low-income families, you can contact an eligibility worker

Food 

• Food Bank IMACA: Free food distribution at sites throughout Mono County
• School Meals: Free and reduced-price meals to go for students
• WIC: Nutrition and breastfeeding support

Rental Assistance

• Mammoth Lakes Housing: Countywide rental assistance for those impacted by COVID 19

 

Financial Help 

• General Assistance and CalWORKS:  A Mono County Eligibility Worker can support with Immediate help with housing, food, utilities, clothing and medical care for those with little or no resources
• IMACA: Financial assistance for childcare is available through IMACA

Legal

• California Indian Legal Services: Free legal assistance and counseling for low-income residents, both Indian and non-Indian

Becoming an Emotion Coach: Based on the Parenting Counts Curriculum by Talaris Institute, Emotion Coaching is a parenting technique that teaches children and parents how their emotions work and how to react to feelings in healthy ways. Topics may include Attachment and Parenting Styles, Emotion Coaching, and Discipline, and Temper Tantrums.

This 4-week class is open to parents with children ages 0-5.

Mono County Public Health has set the guidelines included in the document below in partnership with Inyo Mono Advocates for Community Action, First 5, the Mono County Office of Education, and childcare provider representatives. Mammoth Elementary School will hold drive-by Kindergarten Round Up. Come get your enrollment packet Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday April 6th, 8th, or 9th 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. If the weather is bad, parents will  be asked to come into the building in a limited number to allow for social distancing.
